Terms of Use
Version 4 · in effect since 1 November 2026
The honest summary: WardPoint is a program that runs on your machine. Reviewing your own matches is free and unlimited; the subscription adds new features, and it is not a guarantee that you will climb. It does not run during a live game, and that is enforced in code — it is not a rule we ask you to follow.
1. What it is, and who provides it
WardPoint is a post-game analysis tool for League of Legends, developed by ToriiTech (Gustavo Momma). Up to version 0.1.5 it was called RiftCoach; it is the same program, and everything these terms say about earlier versions applies to them. By installing or using the program you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it — and the program keeps nothing of yours before that point.
2. The software license
From version 0.1.3 onward, WardPoint is proprietary software owned by ToriiTech. You may
install and use it on as many machines as are yours, including professionally: a coach who
charges for lessons may use WardPoint at work at no cost. What you may not do is redistribute,
resell, or offer WardPoint as a service to third parties. The full licence ships with the
program, in LICENSE.txt.
Versions 0.1.0, 0.1.1 and 0.1.2 shipped under AGPL-3.0, and that does not change. Whoever received any of them keeps every right that licence grants, including the right to the corresponding source. That grant is irrevocable. Ask at toriitech2026@gmail.com, say which version, and we will send it at no cost, for the three years the licence provides.
Two parts stay open. The coaching knowledge in knowledge/principles/ remains
under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0, because it is text rather than software, and
it is where community contribution actually helps. And the open-source libraries the program
bundles each remain under their own licence, listed in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt.
The brand is separate from the program. The WardPoint name, the ToriiTech name, the logos and the visual identity of this site are ours and come with no licence to use the program.
3. What is free
The program is free and requires no account. Everything that already worked for free stays free for your own matches, and nothing that is free now becomes paid later. Only what was born paid is paid, as described below.
While the AGPL applied, it was the licence that made this promise enforceable. With the program proprietary, it now rests on these Terms, which are also a contract: ToriiTech irrevocably undertakes not to put behind payment any capability that already worked for free in version 0.1.3. If we ever break that, the breach is of these Terms, and you can hold us to it.
What is charged today is the Método WardPoint subscription. In the program it unlocks My progress (how your numbers and your mistakes change across matches), the training plan and the session review (several matches in one report), which debuted with it in version 0.1.9, and adding a second student and beyond in the coach area, charged since 0.1.5. These three program features are new — they did not exist before, free or paid — so charging for them takes away nothing you already had. The report of every match, the replay, the overlay, memory, patterns across matches and the coach-area evolution stay free and unlimited. Following one student stays free forever.
How the subscription is sold. It is called Método WardPoint and is sold and billed by Hotmart, at the price shown on its checkout. Hotmart processes the payment, runs the monthly charge and handles cancellation and refunds; we never see your card. You cancel on Hotmart at any time, and access lasts until the end of the period already paid. Under Brazil's Consumer Protection Code (art. 49), a refund requested within 7 days of purchase is in full.
Paid hosted services are planned — analysis on our server, tools for people who coach other players, cross-device sync. They do not exist yet. When they do, they will have their own terms, and the paragraph above is what holds: they add, they do not take away.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the program, or any modification of it, during a live game;
- circumvent or disable the check that prevents this;
- use it to violate the Riot Games Terms of Service or the fair-play rules of League of Legends;
- redistribute your Riot API key inside a modified version — the Riot terms forbid disclosing the key, and `strings` on the executable finds it in minutes regardless.
Refusing to run live is architectural: a single module may talk to the local client API, and it revalidates before every request, failing closed. If you change that in your fork, what happens to your account is your responsibility.
5. Your API key
Today the program works with the key you obtain at developer.riotgames.com. It is yours, it lives in the credential vault of your operating system, and its use follows the terms of the Riot Developer Portal. We have no access to it.
6. Relationship with Riot Games
WardPoint is an independent product. We are not affiliated with Riot Games, are not endorsed by it, and do not speak for it. Your League of Legends account is governed by the Riot terms, and nothing here changes that relationship.
7. No warranty
The program is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing here removes the rights Brazil's Consumer Defence Code grants you.
One specific warranty is worth denying in writing: WardPoint does not guarantee improved performance, wins, or climbing. It measures what happened in the match and explains the reasoning. The analysis can be wrong — which is why every statement carries the tier of the evidence behind it, and why reporting a bad finding is the most useful contribution this project can receive.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ToriiTech is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the program, including loss of data, of time, or of progress in the game.
Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer protection law grants you and that cannot be waived by contract.
9. Changes
These terms may change. The date and version at the top change with them, and a material change is announced in the program, not only here. Continuing to use it after a change means accepting it; if you do not accept, stop using it and delete the data folder.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, and the courts of the domicile of the user are elected to settle any dispute.
11. Contact
WardPoint is not endorsed by Riot Games and does not reflect the views or opinions of Riot Games or anyone officially involved in producing or managing Riot Games properties. League of Legends and Riot Games are trademarks or registered trademarks of Riot Games, Inc.
